Updates on Opioid Settlements

Towns may be receiving a flurry of correspondence from the nationwide opioid settlement administrator in the coming weeks regarding the Purdue/Sackler settlement and the “nine additional defendants” - Alvogen, Amneal, Apotex, Hikma, Indivior, Mylan, Sun Pharma, Zydus, and Sandoz. Unlike previous settlements, funds from these settlements will be distributed directly to participating Towns. Therefore, it is crucial that any Town wishing to opt in to the settlements follows all instructions and deadlines included in such correspondence. Key dates and actions are below; keep these dates in mind as your Town schedules any public meetings necessary to approve participation.
