June 2025 News & Events

As we end another successful Town Meeting season, here are some satirical words reflecting on the process:

So did this Town with steadfast zeal

Weave cob-webs for the public weal,

Which when completed, or before,

A second vote in pieces tore,

They met, made speeches full long winded,

Resolved, protested, and rescinded,

Addresses signed, then chose Committees,

To stop all drinking of Bohea-teas,

With winds of doctrine veer’d about,

And turn’d all Whig-Committees out.

Excerpt from McFingal: a modern epic poem in four cantos, J.R. Lowell, 1782

In other news, we are pleased to welcome Dracut to the Harrington Heep family. We congratulate Ivria Glass Fried for her successful completion of her year as President of the Massachusetts Municipal Law Association. Christopher Brown has been elected as Vice-President of this same august body for FY26.
