
Eric B. Reustle
Eric Reustle rejoined the firm in August 2025 and focuses his practice on public and nonprofit law. Eric has represented municipalities, regional governmental entities and state agencies on matters including government structure, special legislation, management of public trusts, judicial modification of restricted funds, and state ethics matters. He has experience drafting bylaws, regulations and special acts, and advising municipalities with respect to the public records law, town meeting process, privacy law issues, and local tax assessments and abatements. In addition, Eric has represented numerous governmental entities that utilize nonprofit affiliates to further their public purposes, such as housing authorities and schools, regarding the complex interplay between the laws that govern public entities with those that govern tax exempt organizations.
Eric has extensive experience representing local and national nonprofit organizations on corporate and tax matters. He provides comprehensive advice to nonprofits from start-up through all phases of their operation including governance, organizational structure, tax compliance, management of charitable funds, lobbying, unrelated business income, grant making, mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, and dissolutions. Eric regularly assists clients with matters that involve interaction with government agencies, such as the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office and Internal Revenue Service.
