New Quotas for Liquor Licenses
The Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission has updated each municipality’s quota for liquor licenses based on the 2020 census. The updated quotas may be found here.
Draft Guidelines Under G.L. c. 40A, § 3A for MBTA Communities
You will recall that Section 18 of Chapter 358 of the Acts of 2020 added a new Section 3A of the Zoning Act. The section requires municipalities to adopt a bylaw or ordinance that allows multi-family residences as of right in a district of “reasonable size.” The Department of Community Housing and Development has issued draft guidelines to ensure compliance. Comments will be accepted from now until March 31, 2022.
